VIDEO: A two-year renovation project at one of Central Florida’s most unique spaces is complete. The Sanford Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Monday to celebrate the completion of the loft remodeling above the Historic Sanford Fire Station. Available for rent via Airbnb, the 2,400 square-foot space has two bedrooms and two bathrooms.
The renovations include new flooring to give it an even more historic look, while updated bathrooms offer a more modern, industrial look.
One key addition was a solid brass fire pole recycled from another station and installed in the same spot a pole once sat when the Sanford station opened in 1887. They also installed new mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems that weren’t previously operating in the lower part of the building.
