One person is dead after a crash involving a truck versus a tree on Jacksonville's Northwest side, according to the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department.
The crash happened at Old Kings Road at Union Heights Road, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
At approximately 5:17 p.m., The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Communication Center received a call from a concerned citizen stating a driver of a white pickup truck was heading northbound on Old Kings Road and driving recklessly at a high rate of speed. A few minutes later, a single vehicle crash was reported, involving the same Chevy truck, at the 7300 block of Old Kings Road.
The driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a tree, JSO says. JFRD responded to the scene and extinguished the fire.
The driver was declared dead by JFRD.
