It’s rare to see firefighters and medical personnel breach a barricaded door during a hostage standoff so law enforcement officers can swoop in to help any victims and secure all suspects. While unusual, the unique partnership does exist between the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office and Coweta County Fire Rescue. The two agencies frequently work in tandem, sharing information, techniques and even state-of-the-art equipment that could save lives during dangerous conditions, such as an active shooter or hostage situation.
