VIDEO: A fire investigation is underway at Georgia Veterans State Park in Cordele after a maintenance building caught fire Sunday around 3:15 p.m. No one was inside the building at the time of the fire, according to Crisp County Fire Chief, Michael Postell. Postell also stated that the cause of the fire is possibly electrical but it’s still under investigation. Chief Postell says “a maintenance guy, that was here that was doing some wiring so we’re looking at the wiring part of it. We just wanna thank Sumter County for coming over and helping.” Crisp County and Sumter County emergency vehicles responded to the scene. Lake Blackshear Resort & Golf Club’s parent company, Coral Hospitality-GA, LLC, sent a statement regarding the fire.
