Crews extinguished a fire at an Atlanta apartment complex Monday evening.
11Alive Skytracker flew over the 251 North Atlanta Apartments at 300 Cityline Ave NE shortly after 5 p.m. Atlanta Fire Rescue crews arrived at the apartment complex fire around 4:40 p.m. and found the flames coming out of the second and third floors of the three-story building, they said, just before the scene escalated to a two-alarm fire.
Authorities said everyone was evacuated from the building before crews arrived. Firefighters were also able to rescue a cat and a dog.
Flames and heavy smoke were seen coming from what appeared to be the roof of the apartment complex, video shows. The apartments are not far from Central Park. Firefighters aggressively attacked the flames, according to the department, and were able to extinguish them within minutes.
