Hinesville Fire Department (HFD) is highlighting fire safety with brush fires continuing. HFD is encouraging everyone to follow burn ordinances after a brush fire caused damage to a house. According to HFD, crews responded to the home just after 4 p.m. on Tuesday. Crews found an "active scene with the fire on the interior and exterior of the residence." HFD continues to stress fire safety despite the quick response and extinguishment. “When you’re doing any kind of outside burning and it’s dry out, there’s debris around, just use common sense. You know, keep those fires away, keep a garden hose that has water to it, it’s turned on, you know close by in case something that does happen that’s out of your control that can be controlled. And monitored until it’s out," said Alex Mason, Public Information Officer of Hinesville Fire Department.
