25-year-old man dead after Dededo accident

A 25-year-old man was killed early Tuesday after the Toyota Highlander he was driving struck a utility pole in Dededo, according to police and firefighters. The car was traveling east and ran off the road, police said. Guam Fire Department medics responded to the scene of an auto-pole crash at 12:10 a.m. Tuesday, according to firefighter Kevin Reilly, GFD spokesman. Emergency responders performed CPR on the patient while on the way to the Guam Regional Medical City, Reilly said. The 25-year-old man was pronounced dead at the hospital, according to Guam Police Department spokesman Sgt. Paul Tapao. GPD investigators continue their investigation into the crash. They haven't determined what factors led to the accident. The man's death marks the 16th traffic-related fatality of the year.
