The woman who died at the Chamorro Shooting Gallery in Piti on Thursday is a tourist and police are trying to find her next of kin. The circumstances of her death have not been made public. The Guam Police Department is conducting an investigation into the death of the 55-year-old woman whose name has not been released. The woman was transported to Naval Hospital Guam after she sustained a single gunshot wound. While en route, CPR was performed by Guam Fire Department medical personnel. The victim was later pronounced dead by physicians at Naval Hospital Guam, GPD spokesman Sgt. Paul Tapao said Friday morning. The case has been forwarded to the GPD Criminal Investigation Division for a follow-up, Tapao stated. It wasn't clear as of press time if a temporary medical examiner has been available for the autopsy. With the retirement of longtime Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Aurelio Espinola and without a replacement, the police will be missing key information into the investigation.
