Naval Base Guam will participate in an annual anti-terrorism force exercise from June 24 through 28.
During the exercise, there may be an increase in traffic around military bases or a delay in base access, although measures have been taken to minimize disruptions, the base announced in a press release.
The exercise is designed to enhance the training, readiness and capability of Navy security forces in the event they are called upon to respond to threats to installations, commands and units.
Exercise Citadel Pacific 2019 is an annual exercise conducted by the U.S. Pacific Fleet and Navy Installations Command. The exercises are not in response to any specific threat, a Naval Base Guam press release stated.
The release added that advanced coordination has taken place with local law enforcement and first responders in preparation for the exercise.
