Guam Fire Department firefighters from the Dededo station were dispatched to a large trash fire on Chalan Acho Latte in Dededo on Friday, according to Fire Department spokesman Firefighter Kevin Reilly. With the assistance of the Dededo Mayor, a backhoe was brought to the scene to assist. The fire was under control but still smoldering during the afternoon as fire personnel and Dededo Mayor's Office employees worked to fully extinguish the blaze. EPA also sent a representative to assess the fire.
