Route 17, known as Cross Island Road, by Windward Memorial and Tarzan Falls is closed, and power is out in the area because of an auto fire and downed power pole, public safety and Guam Power Authority officials said.
Guam Fire Department acting spokeswoman Cherika Chargulaf said a 911 call reporting a power line fire was received at 2:51 p.m.
GFD units arrived on scene to power line, auto and grass fires, she said.
Units secured the auto fire and monitored the grass fire until a Guam Power Authority crew came on the scene to secure the power line, she said.
No injuries were reported, Chargulaf said.
Crews are still on scene for grass fire, she said.
The Guam Power Authority advised that a power outage is in progress, according to a press release.
