The Guam Fire Department responded to two reports of distressed swimmers on Saturday, according to Kevin Reilly, GFD spokesperson. At about 3 p.m., engine, rescue and medic units from GFD and a 45' Response Boat from the USCG responded to a report of two distressed swimmers clinging to the reef outside the Asan Beach Park. Rescue personnel were able to get to the 20-year-old man and 17-year-old woman and transport the two back to the beach. No serious injuries were reported. At about 5 p.m., GFD units responded to a report in Ipan for 3 distressed swimmers over the reef. Two men and two women were helped off the reef and onto the cliffline by beachgoers where rescue personnel met with them and escorted them to shore.
