Guam Sports Events Inc., organizers of the United Airlines Guam Marathon, presented a donation of lifesaving equipment and supplies to the Guam Police Department and the Guam Fire Department.
GPD and GFD have been strong supporters of the United Guam Marathon since its inception almost eight years ago, a news release stated. The donated supplies included utility belts, emergency kits and tourniquets.
In addition to the in-kind donation to GPD and GFD, the United Guam Marathon also made a monetary donation to USO Guam.
“(United Guam Marathon) is proud to contribute to these great organizations, and we do this on behalf of the thousands of participants of the United Airlines Guam Marathon and its key sponsors," " said Ben Ferguson, United Guam Marathon event director.
