It's an exciting time for the Guam Fire Department as they have picked up two new engines.
Acting Fire Chief Joey San Nicolas said they arrived Monday and the registration and proper paperwork has been completed and can be issued out to the field.
“For the purpose of training, equipment familiarity, and so forth, to get these units out to the stations equipped, so personnel can't get to know the truck and utilize it and understand its capabilities,” said San Nicolas.
And the engine trucks are coming at critical times.
San Nicolas added, “Operations are challenging. Especially during this time--it's dry season. Our fire trucks are working very hard. And they go through a lot throughout the days, constant maintenance, issues pop up and it definitely is a challenge to keep them operational.”
