Honolulu Fire Investigators say that a fire that took place on Saturday at the Rainbow Place condominium in Moiliili was started by accident. They said an arc in a lighted display case sparked the fire in unit 2101. Smoke and flames billowed into the air on Kuilei Street. It took crews about half an hour to get the three alarm fire under control. An elderly man who evacuated the building was later found unresponsive and died at the hospital. The damage is estimated at more than half a million dollars.
