A 15-year-old boy was transported to the hospital Monday after he jumped into the ocean at Puu Kekaa and friends saw him going into a seizure when he landed in the water, according to the Maui Fire Department. Lahaina firefighters responded to the call at 12:32 p.m. Monday at the location also known as Black Rock in Kaanapali. After the boy landed in the ocean, friends kept his head above water and brought him to shore, according to the Fire Department. Firefighters arrived to find the boy conscious and breathing on shore. Medics transported him to Maui Memorial Medical Center.
