The Honolulu Fire Department responded early Tuesday to a blaze that engulfed six agricultural sheds at a shrimp farm and eventually sparked a brush fire in Waialua.
HFD said the call came in around 2:45 a.m. at the shrimp farm on Waialua Beach Road.
More than 35 personnel arrived on scene about 15 minutes later.
According to HFD Capt. Scott Seguirant, the brush fire was 100% contained by 4:10 a.m.
Firefighters brought the shed fires under control by 7:40 a.m., but they are still working to extinguish them.
It’s unknown if anyone was inside the structures at the time of the fire, but no injuries were reported.
The Hawaiian Electric Company also responded. A portion of Waialua Beach Road was closed, but it reopened just before 6 a.m.
The cause and damage estimates are under investigation.
