A teenager is in critical condition after being pulled from a hotel pool in Kapalua on Maui, Tuesday afternoon.
The incident happened around 3:30 p.m. at a hotel near 1 Kapalua Bay Drive. First responders were called to the hotel after a 13-year-old victim was found fully submerged in the pool.
Bystanders had pulled the teen from the pool and emergency crews successfully performed CPR to revive the victim.
The teen – who has not been identified – was then taken to Maui Memorial Hospital in critical condition, and later flown to Kapiloani Hospital on Oahu for additional care. Authorities did not say who, if anyone, the teen was swimming with at the time of the incident or if they were a guest at the hotel.
This case remains under investigation.
