Community leaders gathered to educate the community on what they should do if a wildfire starts on Oahu's North Shore. The North Shore Chamber of Commerce hosted the meeting at Haleiwa Joes on Wednesday. The Maui wildfires have led many communities to put a strong emphasis on action and evacuation plans. "To bring the community together and make sure we're on the same page and ready in case of disaster, I'd rather our community be prepared and not panic," said administrative assistant for the North Shore Chamber of Commerce Daysia Basilio-Chun. Leaders included council members, the director of emergency management, Honolulu Fire Department and the office of climate change, sustainability, and resiliency.
