Fire officials received the call around 2:18 a.m. before sending nine units with over 30 personnel to battle flames at the abandoned, two-story residential building near Center Drive and Tarawa Drive.
According to HFD, the first unit arrived at the scene at 2:10 a.m. Reports said firefighters were able to secure a water supply and initiate a defensive fire attack from outside the building.
HFD said the structure was fully involved in the fire. The combination of the flames’ intensity and the structure’s condition caused the building to collapse at 2:18 a.m., per HFD.
Officials were able to control the flames by 2:38 a.m. and fully extinguished the fire at 5:18 a.m.
