VIDEO: A 3-alarm fire raged in a Kalihi building that houses multiple businesses, according to Honolulu Fire Department officials.
HFD says the fire started just before 7 p.m. Sunday in the building at Dillingham Boulevard and Waiakamilo Road.
Heavy black smoke was reported coming from the moped shop Rainbow Motors.
Officials say Hazmat was called because of the moped batteries.
“The owner came. Stopped by. Two owners, and then they went to open the door. They cannot open the door. They break the glass, and then the smoke comes out,” Witness William Domingo said.
44 HFD personnel were involved in the response, and it took them about an hour to put out the blaze.
There were no reported injuries, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
