The Fire Department’s newest engine will be out of service for about 45 days while being repaired in Weyauwega, Wisconsin. In December of 2018, while responding to an ambulance rollover on Interstate 80, Engine 1 lost traction on the icy highway and spun into the cable barriers on Interstate 80. The vehicle sustained over $50,000 in damage in the accident. Luckily, most of the damage was cosmetic in nature and the vehicle remained in service until it needed to be delivered to the repair shop in Wisconsin. During the downtime, Engine 2 will fill the role of first out Engine and Tanker 1 will serve as a backup engine.
