A Manson family was displaced from their home early Monday morning after their house caught fire, according to Manson Fire Chief John Colshan. The fire at 1528 10th Ave., was reported at 1:41 a.m. No one was injured in the blaze, Colshan reported. The cause is undetermined. “It appeared to be a fire in the basement,” Colshan said. “We thought we had it put out and it reignited itself. We were called back around 4 a.m. It had gotten up in the walls in the kitchen area.” Two holes were cut in the roof on the front of the house to get at the fire. The property is listed as belonging to Mary and Kenneth Nelson, according to online records. Its total assessed value is $50,160. Firefighters from Rockwell City, Manson/Calhoun County EMS, Manson Police Department, and Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department, responded.
