The Coralville Fire Department is investigating the cause of a fire at the Coralville Days Inn & Suites after it caught fire Tuesday morning.
No injuries were reported, and the cause is not considered suspicious, according to a news release. The damage was estimated at about $500,000. At about 6 a.m. Tuesday, the Coralville Fire Department responded to the hotel, located at 704 1st Ave., officials said. The fire was contained within about an hour and entirely extinguished about two hours after personnel arrived on the scene. Thirty-five of the hotel's rooms were occupied and all of the occupants were able to safely exit the building, according to the release. The Red Cross provided help to several guests. Several rooms were damaged by the fire, and the hotel was damaged by smoke throughout the building, officials said.
