The Des Moines Police Department said a man is in custody and charged in connection with multiple intentionally-set fires.
Des Moines police announced Tuesday that they were searching for a man, later identified as 36-year-old Bounthong James Pongphimkam, in connection with fires set in the Union Park neighborhood between March 15-21.
Five hours after posting to Facebook about the case, police said they were able to find and arrest Pongphimkam.
Pongphimkam is charged with first-degree arson, and second- and third-degree burglary.
