In a recent update, Carroll Fire Chief, Greg Schreck, reported the volunteer department responded to nine calls for service in the month of October, held three training sessions and implemented more stringent COVID-19 preventative requirements as case numbers continue to rise. He says effective immediately, all firefighters will be required to wear masks for training sessions at which physical distancing is not possible. They have also purchased disposable masks that have been placed in all department vehicles for emergency calls as needed. The training received in October was focused on safe ground ladder use during roof operations. Firefighters were also broken out into five smaller groups and then given addresses to some of the lesser-known streets throughout Carroll. Schreck says this is a great educational opportunity and a benefit in locating addresses in an emergency situation.
