The Linn County Sheriff's Office says no one was injured after a house fire northwest of Mount Vernon, near Bertram, on Thursday. Sheriff's deputies along with Mount Vernon Fire Department and the Mount Vernon Ambulance Service responded to 1590 Holmans Road in Linn County shortly after 3 p.m. for a report of a structure fire. They found a dryer had caught fire in the residence and quickly extinguished it. Officials say the only damage to the home was smoke and no one was injured.
