Sioux City Fire Rescue is being recognized for its efforts to save the lives of people fighting heart attacks. The department has received the American Heart Association's "Mission Lifeline EMS Gold Plus Award" for its work to treat those patients with the highest standard of care. "Gold-Plus" is the highest level of award offered by the AHA and Sioux City is one of five cities in Iowa to be recognized at that level.
