The Anita Fire Department was called out to a fire — a double trailer semi had a fire in one of the trailers — at about the 63.75 mile marker on Interstate 80 eastbound — on Thursday morning about 9 a.m.
According to reports, the driver was able to get out of the truck, and the fire was contained to the rear of the second trailer.
The second trailer was hauling automotive parts, including batteries. It was unhooked and the fire was put out.
The Anita Fire Department, Iowa State Patrol and Cass County Emergency Management Director Mike Kennon responded to the fire.
