VIDEO: Authorities responded to a fire Friday morning at a grain elevator in Albert City, Iowa.
No one was injured after the fire at the Ag Partners cooperative grain elevator in Albert City, Iowa. Albert City Fire Chief Gary Hogrefe said they weren't able to do much to start putting out the fire, until the Storm Lake Fire Department arrived on the scene with their aerial ladder truck, because the fire was on conveyer belts on top of the grain elevator.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Along with the Albert City and Storm Lake departments, Hogrefe says they also had help from the Rembrandt, Marathon and Newell departments.
"Mutual aid is everything in rural departments. You can't fight a lot of fires because of the help situation, and equipment. In this case, we needed an ariel ladder truck to get us up there and they really helped out a lot," said Gary Hogrefe, Albert City Fire Chief.
