VIDEO: The Des Moines City Council is set to approve plans for a new fire station at their meeting on Monday.
Station #4 could soon be torn down and moved if the City Council approves the plans.
The first step of the project would be to approve the acquisition of where the new station would be, which comes at a price tag of $500,000.
"That allows us to take the very first step in working with property owners for the new station four location between 19th and MLK on Clark. Which we're excited about because it's going to improve service to this part of the community," said Des Moines fire chief John TeKippe.
Residents of where the new station would be are happy to hear about this addition to their community, calling it a win for everyone.
