A longtime firefighter and EMT in Marion County is thankful for the time and service given by the outgoing Pella Fire Chief. Pella Ambulance Chief Greg Higginbotham says he appreciates Doug Van Gorkom and his 50 years of helping others and nearly two decades of leadership — especially getting to see that firsthand over the years from his own time at Knoxville Fire and Rescue and the past four leading Pella Community Ambulance. Higginbotham says he looks forward to continuing work with new Pella Fire Chief Randy Bogaard.
