The owner of a farm in La Porte City is grateful for the support her community has shown after a large fire broke out Saturday night. La Porte City Fire Rescue says that emergency crews responded to the fire at Hanson's Hollow farm Saturday night. They say that the engulfed barn was a total loss, but they were able to save three nearby buildings from burning and no injuries were reported. According to Maureen Hanson, the community has come to their support following the fire. "We are overwhelmed with the kindness and support of our family, friends, community, church family, customers, and even strangers after losing our barn to a fire last night," Hanson said in a Facebook post. Hanson thanked the emergency crews for their timely response and work to contain the fire. Above all, she was thankful no one was hurt.
