One arrested in arson case after car fire in Sioux City

A car fire in a Sioux City garage has launched an arson investigation. At 12:56 on Monday, an eyewitness reported they saw a person with a black mask pouring gasoline on a car in a garage on the 1800 block of Virginia Street and lighting it on fire. Once on the scene, the Sioux City Fire Department was able to quickly put out the fire, the blaze was contained to only the vehicle around the gas cap. Sioux City Police were able to find suspects in the nearby area matching the description given by eyewitnesses. 27-year-old Shaw-Keem Goodman has been charged with 1st-degree arson and booked into the Woodbury County Jail. Officers say he and two others were arrested after a car fire was reported in a garage at a home on Virginia Street, with witnesses reporting the crime to Sioux City Police. The two others were released without charges.
