If you visited the McDonald's in West Frankfort, Illinoios you may have had your order taken by a firefighter.
The Moreland Family who owns the McDonald's said that they've done fundraisers in the past but for the first time they had one for the Fire Department.
Firefighters helped take orders, make food, and share a meal with the community. Twenty percent of all proceeds made during the event will go to the Fire Department, they also sold cookies during the event, and accepted donations. They collected $1132.51.
They also had several firetrucks on site for the public to tour.
The Moreland family said its important to spend one on one time with first responders to build trust and be more comfortable with them if they ever find themselves in emergency situations.
