The fire department received a call at about 5:46 a.m. about the in the 1800-block of North Sawyer Avenue. One person in the fire was killed. Authorities have not provided further information on the victim. Neighbors said the person who died in the fire was a man in his 70s who appeared to live alone. He was found on the second floor.
