Three veteran members of the Logansport police and fire departments were recognized for their service to the city Friday night at the fourth annual Light Up Logansport Parade. Lt. Ray Bean, a 30-year member of the Logansport Police Department, was named Police Officer of the Year. He has served in the Detective Division and in the Investigation Division prior to serving in his current capacity in the Traffic Division. Firefighters Greg Ulery and Rob Grisez were named Co-Firefighters of the Year. Grisez is scheduled to retire next year. He is known as a good-hearted firefighter who has been supportive of the department and has never been recognized for many of the things he has done during his career. Ulery received several nominations from the public for his work not only within the department, but in the community.
