A former fire chief was the first on the scene of a house fire after using his nose to follow the smell of the smoke. According to our news gathering partners at the Lebanon Reporter, Chief Jim Stevenson woke up around 4 a.m. on Thursday and immediately know something was wrong after smelling smoke. He went outside and saw a house in his neighborhood that was up in flames and called it in to his former department. Investigators say the house was under renovation and right now, nobody is living there.
