A Fort Wayne firefighter will leave the fire department as part of a plea agreement in a harassment case. Michael T. Moring, 49, pleaded guilty Friday to misdemeanor harassment by using a computer or other means of communication. As part of the plea deal approved by Allen Superior Court Judge Wendy Davis, a felony stalking charge was dismissed and he will leave the fire department. He was also placed on probation for a year. Moring had been a firefighter since 2002 and he was suspended without pay nearly a year ago. From April 2016 through February 2017, a woman received lewd word texts, photograph texts and a single video text from someone she did not know. She feared for her safety because the sender knew her by name and later appeared to know personal details, court records said.
