City-based ambulances have been running for nearly a week, but efforts to come to an agreement between city and county officials have broken down again.
At its Monday meeting, the Delaware County Commissioners didn't introduce an interlocal agreement with city officials that would have established the territories that the city and county would cover.
The legislation also would have set up mutual aid between the two EMS providers.
Ambulances under control of MFD are stationed at fire stations No. 2, 3 and 6 along the city’s east side and south side. Those cover almost the entire city, although Delaware County EMS is still covering the northwest portion of the city.
That is established by a verbal agreement for the time being.
