Winchester man dies after Randolph County crash

A Winchester man died Thursday afternoon after a single-vehicle crash in western Randolph County. Ned A. Sickels, 65, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, along Randolph County Road 1000-W south of County Road 55-S. According to Sheriff Art Moystner, Sickels was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado southbound on County Road 1000-W when the pickup truck left the east side of the road. The vehicle came to rest in a drainage ditch. The crash — reported to emergency dispatchers at 3:55 p.m. — remains under investigation by the sheriff's department. Other agencies at the scene included Farmland police and firefighters, Randolph County EMS and the Randolph County coroner's office.
