PHOTOS: A vehicle ran off Interstate 69 and struck a building near the roadway on Sunday. In a post on Facebook, the Monroe County Fire Protection District reported that crews were dispatched to West Industrial Park Drive near Bloomington after a building’s fire alarm went off. Officials later determined the building’s fire and burglary alarms were set off by a vehicle crash. MFPD indicated that dispatchers heard from callers who reported the vehicle left the southbound lanes of I-69, drove down an embankment and hit the building. Firefighters found the vehicle’s occupants sitting outside the building. The occupants did not sustain any major injuries, per MFPD. The Monroe Fire Protection District received assistance at the scene from the Ellettsville Fire Department, Bloomington Fire Department, Indiana State Police, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and Duke Energy.
