Wichita fire investigators say a discarded cigarette is to blame for a pole barn fire near Eisenhower Airport Sunday afternoon. The fire started around 3 p.m. in the 2000 block of south Hoover Road. Firefighters say the structure was fully involved when crews got on scene. Crews closed Hoover Road between K-42 and Kellogg while they worked to clear the scene. It has since reopened. Fire investigators say the fire caused around $50,000 worth of damage.
