The Topeka Fire Department Investigation's Unit examined the scene of the fires at two mobile homes Monday morning, and determined that the fires were intentionally set.
The mobile home park, located at 3511 SE Monroe Street, was closed and uninhabited. The firefighters managed to extinguish both fires and prevent them from spreading any further.
The structural damage was determined to be valued at $500 for each trailer, totaling $1,000 of total damage. No value was given to any contents lost in the fire. Working smoke detectors were not found in either structure.
