A man involved in a head-on collision on U.S. Highway 400 brought concerns to Greenwood County commissioners at their weekly meeting Monday morning. EMS Director Brian Mongeau, Sheriff Heath Samuels and Emergency Manager Levi Vinson were also in attendance. Greenwood County Fire Chief Doug Williams joined the meeting via speaker phone. Robert Graham of Fall River told commissioners that he had been in a head-on collision on Feb. 5 on U.S. Highway 400 and was concerned the Fall River Fire Department was not paged out to the wreck. He, coincidentally, is also the Fall River City fire chief and felt if the department had been paged out, it could have responded to the scene for assistance within five minutes to render aid. Graham said three years ago, there was a wreck near the same location and because the Fall River Fire Department wasn’t paged out, a young woman was in the ditch for 45 minutes before help arrived.
