A fire caused major damage to a Gypsum home just after midnight Saturday. According to a report by Saline County Sheriff Roger Soldan, firefighters from the Gypsum Fire Department and Saline County Rural Fire District No. 1 were called to the scene of a fire at 702 King just after midnight, where they found the home engulfed in flames. The residents, Sean Corbett, 44, and Tina Tanner, 53, were able to escape the house before the fire spread, Soldan said. The value of the home was estimated at $55,000. Total loss of the contents of the home have not been determined. Soldan said the cause of the fire is still under investigation, but the residents said they first spotted flames in an area containing a water heater and that possibly an electrical issue was to blame.
