Dozens of people were displaced from their homes Saturday after a fire tore through a northeast Wichita apartment complex.
Firefighters responded just before 3 p.m. for a report of a fire at the Rockborough Apartments near Douglas and Rock Road.
When crews arrived, they encountered heavy smoke coming from the second floor and two center units.
"We emitted a second alarm assignment which meant additional units were coming. Other than that, crews put the fire out, everyone had evacuated. Searched and didn't find anyone there either," said WFD.
Fire officials say three apartments were damaged in the fire. The fire started in the wall between two apartments on the second floor.
No one was hurt, but Red Cross was called to assist eighteen adults and four kids who were displaced by the fire.
