Fireworks season is here and the Wichita Fire Department is inspecting your favorite sales tent for safety.
The Quezadas run this fireworks tent as a family. They're used to this routine.
“We've been here for four years,” said Talia Quezada. “As a whole, we've done it for 10.”
On Monday they welcomed two Wichita firefighters in, there to make sure everything is ready for a safe and legal fireworks selling season.
“Very important!” Quezada says, describing how important she thinks the inspections are.
As the firefighters walk through the tent, they are looking at how the tent is put up, basic fire safety precautions and, of course, the fireworks themselves.
“Make sure it's structurally sound, and that it's put together properly. The last thing we want to do is for one of these tents to fall apart and fall on any of the patrons or workers,” said Lt. James Ake, Wichita Fire Dept.
