A home is a total loss following a Saturday fire in Manhattan. Just after 5 pm Saturday, the Riley County Fire District was paged for a structure fire at 6320 North 52nd Street Lot #3, according to Assistant Fire Chief Michael Regal. Riley County Chief-2 arrived first and found a partially involved Mobile Home. Several other stations responded to assist along with about 25 volunteers. The fire was placed under control in about 45-minutes and all of the units returned to their station around 8p.m. Damage to the residents is around $30,000 and content loss exceeds $15,000. The residence was a total loss. There is extensive damage, which prohibits an exact cause but the fire appears to have possibly started at or near the outside porch area. No residents were injured. Two firefighters were transported for precautionary reasons, none of these injuries were life threatening, according to Regal.
