Man pinned to tree rescued by first responders in Olathe

A man who attempted to cut a tree in Olathe was rescued by first responders after he became pinned to the tree’s trunk. The Olathe Fire Department says that just after 10:35 a.m. on Sunday, April 14, emergency crews were called to the area of 122nd and Alcan St., in the Wyncroft Meadows neighborhood, with reports of an emergency. When first responders arrived, they said they found a man who had been cutting the top of a tree had fallen and was pinned to the tree’s trunk. Firefighters indicated that they were able to use ladders and ropes to rescue the man who was about 20 feet off the ground. Emergency crews reported minor injuries were sustained as a result.
